Privacy Policy
This is the exact Privacy Policy shown inside the MaaSphere app (Settings > Privacy Policy), kept word-for-word in sync between the app and this page.
Welcome to MaaSphere. MaaSphere ('the App', 'we', 'our', or 'us') is a pregnancy and maternal health platform designed to support individuals throughout pregnancy and early parenthood. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information when you use the MaaSphere mobile application, website (https://maasphere.in), and related services.
By using MaaSphere, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Company Information

Service providers described in Section 6 (Third-Party Services) act as Data Processors (or 'Data Processors'/processing entities under the DPDP Act): they process personal information only on our instructions and only to provide the services described in this Policy, not for their own independent purposes.

See Section 16 (AI Services) and our dedicated in-app AI Disclaimer for more detail. Users should not rely solely on AI responses for medical decisions.
3. How We Use Your Information

3A. Legal Basis for Processing
Where the GDPR or a similar law applies to you, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process your personal information: (a) your consent (for example, when you voluntarily provide pregnancy or health information, or opt in to notifications) — which you may withdraw at any time as described in Section 12; (b) performance of our contract with you (to create and operate your account and provide the App's core features); (c) our legitimate interests (such as improving the App, preventing fraud, and keeping the service secure), balanced against your rights; and (d) compliance with a legal obligation. Under India's DPDP Act, our processing of your personal data is likewise grounded in your consent or another legally recognized ground (such as a 'certain legitimate use' permitted by the Act), and you may withdraw consent at any time with the same ease with which it was given.
4. Health Information
Certain information provided by users may constitute health-related information (in some jurisdictions, 'special category' or 'sensitive personal data'). We process this information only:
- with your consent,
- to provide pregnancy tracking features,
- to personalize your experience,
- to improve app functionality where permitted by law.
We do not sell your health information.
4A. Medical Disclaimer
MaaSphere, including its pregnancy tracking tools, educational content, and the Dhruv AI Assistant, is provided for informational and organizational purposes only. It is not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. Always seek the advice of your physician, midwife, or other qualified healthcare provider with any questions you may have regarding a medical condition, your pregnancy, or your baby's health, and before making any decision based on information in the App. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or were told in MaaSphere. If you believe you may be experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. A full Medical Disclaimer is also available at all times from Settings > Medical Disclaimer.
4B. AI Disclaimer
Dhruv AI is an artificial-intelligence-based assistant, not a healthcare professional. AI-generated content is produced by a third-party large language model (provided by Anthropic) and:
- is provided for informational and educational purposes only;
- does not diagnose, treat, or provide personalized medical advice;
- may occasionally be inaccurate, incomplete, or out of date;
- must always be verified with your doctor or another qualified healthcare provider before you rely on it for any medical decision.
Conversations with Dhruv AI may be reviewed in aggregate or anonymized form to improve the safety and quality of the assistant, and may be retained as described in Section 11 (Data Retention). A full AI Disclaimer is also available at all times from Settings > AI Disclaimer.
5. Children's Privacy
MaaSphere is intended for individuals who are legally permitted to use the service under applicable law and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 18 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction, if higher) without appropriate parental or guardian consent where required by law. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child without appropriate authorization where required, we will take reasonable steps to delete such information.
6. Third-Party Services
MaaSphere uses the following categories of trusted third-party service providers, each acting as a Data Processor on our instructions:
- Cloud hosting, database, and authentication: Supabase.
- AI Assistant processing: Anthropic (Claude AI models), used to generate Dhruv AI's responses.
- Crash reporting and error monitoring: Sentry, used to detect and diagnose technical problems in the App.
- Analytics: MaaSphere records in-app usage events (such as which screens are viewed) to understand and improve the product. At present these events are logged for internal diagnostic purposes only and are not shared with a third-party analytics vendor; if we integrate a third-party analytics provider in the future, we will update this Policy accordingly.
- Push notifications: used to deliver reminders and updates you have opted into (see Section 3 and the Permissions section of the App).
These providers process data according to their own privacy policies and applicable laws, and only to the extent necessary to provide their service to us.
7. Data Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to help protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. However, no internet transmission or electronic storage method can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
8. How We Share Your Information
MaaSphere does not sell your personal information or health information. We may share your information only in the following situations:
- With trusted service providers who help us operate the App (such as cloud hosting, authentication, analytics, payment processing, customer support, and AI services — see Section 6).
- When required by law, regulation, court order, or government authority.
- To investigate fraud, security incidents, or violations of our Terms of Use.
- In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to applicable legal protections.
All third-party service providers are expected to protect your information in accordance with applicable privacy laws and contractual obligations.
9. International Data Transfers
As MaaSphere expands internationally, your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your country of residence, including by the service providers named in Section 6. Where required by applicable law (for example, transfers of personal data originating in the EU/UK), we will implement appropriate safeguards for international data transfers, such as standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms, and take reasonable steps to protect your personal information.
10. Data Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as necessary to:
- Provide our services.
- Maintain your account.
- Meet legal, tax, accounting, or regulatory obligations.
- Resolve disputes.
- Enforce our agreements.
When you delete your account (Section 12), your name and other directly identifying profile fields are anonymized immediately and your account is deactivated. Certain pregnancy, health, or usage records associated with your (now-anonymized) account may be retained for a limited period in anonymized or aggregated form for safety, product-improvement, security, and legal-compliance purposes, after which they are deleted unless a longer retention period is required by applicable law. When information is no longer required, we will delete it or anonymize it within a reasonable period.
11. Data Breach Notification
If we become aware of a security incident that results in unauthorized access to or disclosure of your personal information in a manner that creates a real risk of harm to you, we will investigate promptly and, where required by applicable law (including GDPR and the DPDP Act), notify affected users and/or the relevant data protection authority without undue delay, describing the nature of the incident and the steps we are taking in response.
12. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information.
- Correct inaccurate information.
- Update your profile information.
- Request deletion of your account and associated personal data, subject to legal obligations (see Section 13).
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, at any time and with the same ease with which it was given.
- Request a copy of certain personal information in a structured, commonly-used format ('data portability'), where applicable.
- Object to or request restriction of certain processing activities, where provided by law.
To exercise these rights, please contact us at support@maasphere.in. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
13. Account Deletion
You may delete your MaaSphere account at any time directly from the App via Settings > Delete Account, or by contacting support@maasphere.in. Deleting your account from within the App takes effect immediately: your name and directly identifying profile information are anonymized, your account is deactivated, and you are signed out. Some information may be retained afterward as described in Section 10 (Data Retention) and this Section, except where we are required by law to retain certain information for longer. Some anonymized or aggregated information may be retained for analytics, research, security, or legal-compliance purposes.
14. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Maintain website functionality.
- Remember user preferences.
- Improve performance.
- Analyze website traffic.
- Enhance security.
You may control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality.
15. Security Measures
MaaSphere uses reasonable security practices that may include:
- Encryption of data in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
- Encryption of sensitive information where appropriate, including database-level encryption at rest provided by our hosting infrastructure.
- Secure authentication mechanisms.
- Access controls based on roles and responsibilities, enforced at the database level (row-level security).
- Monitoring and logging for security events.
- Regular security updates and vulnerability management.
Despite these measures, no system can guarantee absolute security.
16. AI Services
MaaSphere includes AI-powered features (Dhruv AI, provided using Anthropic's Claude AI models) designed to provide educational information, pregnancy guidance, and user support. AI-generated content:
- Is provided for informational purposes only.
- Does not replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- May contain inaccuracies or incomplete information.
- Should always be verified with a qualified healthcare professional before making medical decisions.
See also Section 4B (AI Disclaimer) and the dedicated AI Disclaimer available from Settings > AI Disclaimer.
17. Permissions
The App may request the following device permissions, only when needed for the corresponding feature: notifications (to deliver reminders and updates you opt into), camera and photo library access (to attach or select photos, such as for your Belly Gallery or profile photo), and network access (required for the App to function). You can review and change these permissions at any time in your device's system settings. Declining a permission may limit the corresponding feature but will not prevent you from using the rest of the App.
18. Governing Law
This Privacy Policy is governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable local law (such as the GDPR for users in the EU/UK) requires otherwise for that user.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When material changes are made, we will revise the 'Last Updated' date and, where appropriate, notify users through the App, website, or other reasonable means. Continued use of MaaSphere after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy, unless otherwise required by law.
20. Contact Information and Grievance Officer
For questions, complaints, or privacy-related requests, please contact:

As required by applicable law (including India's DPDP Act), our Grievance Officer can also be reached at the email address above. We will acknowledge and address grievances within the timeframe required by applicable law.
